426 Hemi can do high 3's to low 4's 0-60..
ReplyDelete440 are 4 second range 0-60
383 4bbl hi performance high 4 to low 5 second 0-60
383 4bbl non high performance mid 5-high 5 0-60
383 2bbl were mid 6 0-60's ran 14.5 1/4 mile as they just hooked no tire spinning/lack of traction like other engines did.
318 2bbl 15-16 second 1/4 mile..
225 I 6 18 second 1/4 mile
Remember tires were skinny bias ply of the day,a modern radial is equal to a slick of the day..Tested a new 440 and it ran low 14's in the 1/4 mile ,spinning, burning rubber all over..they added a 10' slick equal to a radial tire of today it ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile..
You can take at least 1 second off the old recorded tests of the day...most 440 4bbl Magnum cars ran 13's with street bias ply,add new tires its 12's..add a better carb, exhaust and quicker and quicker..a few tenths here and there..
